A caregiver is a person who tends to the needs or concerns of a person with short-term or long-term limitations due to illness, injury or disability. This role is very important because your client relies on your assistance in their day-to-day life. We prioritize hiring caregivers who share the same ethics and passion that we promote. Some qualities that we look for in a caregiver includes:
- Reliable – As mentioned above, your client relies on you and your assistance. As a caregiver, being reliable is necessary.
- Compassionate – Being empathetic and understanding is critical when taking care of anyone.
- Patient – Depending on the person and their medical conditions, your client may require more attention and/or communication. Being patient can help your client feel more safe and comfortable with you.
- Detail Oriented – It’s important to keep track of every appointment that your client may have and medication that they take.
- Setting Boundaries – We look out for our caregivers just as much as our clients. Setting boundaries helps keep the environment safe and comfortable.
- Trustworthy – You have to remember that you’re taking care of someone in their home. Building a level of trust is a must.
If you’re interested in becoming a caregiver, please note that you have to pass the PCA/CFSS test online. Once you pass, you will be emailed your certificate. Please be sure to attach your certificate to your application when applying.
